For leaders deciding how AI changes marketing

You can build a campaign for thousands. But can you build a campaign for one?

Aicadium audited 125 AI marketing tools and found roughly two-thirds could be replaced or reduced by a general AI assistant. So we built SPECTRUM, an AI campaign engine that takes a brief to a persona-differentiated campaign package in about 25 minutes of compute, against our two-week manual baseline. Four articles cover the audit, the build, the economics, and the gates that keep humans in charge.

What we believe

Three convictions from the audit and the build

CONVICTION I

Many AI marketing tools are the same assistant in disguise

We mapped 125 AI-driven SaaS tools found in a typical B2B marketing stack, grouped them by the job they do, and asked one question of each: could a general AI assistant with the right instructions do this today? Two-thirds are, in practical terms, one assistant wearing different logos. You may already own the intelligence layer they are selling back to you.

CONVICTION II

Personalisation has stopped being a time or cost problem

Every leader wants segment-of-one relevance. Every budget forces a segment-of-thousands compromise. That trade-off rested on the assumption that differentiated content is expensive to produce, and in our testing it no longer holds. At under US$0.025 per generated campaign run, a distinct variant for every one of a thousand target executives comes to about US$25 in total. The constraints that remain are data quality and judgment.

CONVICTION III

Human-in-the-loop makes AI marketing more rigorous

SPECTRUM's output consistently delivers  seven or eight out of ten, reliably and fast, and every AI step carries a human checkpoint to  approve, edit, or reject. All copy goes through the initial review process before any creative work begins, and an automated evaluator blocks any claim without a traceable source. The gates gave us a consistent, auditable quality standard, every time.

Consolidate the stack

One assistant may be hiding in all 20 of your subscriptions

The modern marketing stack sprawls across dozens of overlapping AI subscriptions. Most of them are one assistant wearing different logos.

A tool earns its renewal when it owns something an assistant cannot reach. Across our audit, the survivors clustered around genuine moats: proprietary data, closed ad-platform execution, live-traffic testing infrastructure, and specialised generative media models. None of these is a language model with a workflow interface. That suggests four questions for every AI line item on the invoice.

Read the findings and run our audit before your next renewal cycle.

Owned data
Does it own data we cannot get elsewhere? Proprietary data no one else holds is a real moat. A vendor re-selling intelligence over your own data is not.
Platform execution
Does it execute where an AI assistant cannot? Data storage platforms and live-traffic testing infrastructure are places an assistant cannot act. Tools that operate there survive the test.
Proprietary models
Does it generate what we cannot? Specialised generative media models earn their keep. A text feature wrapped around the same model you already license does not.
Channel delivery
Does it enable a channel? Even if its intelligence isn’t special, does the platform itself do a delivery job you still need, such as sending the emails or serving the ads?
SPECTRUM in action

See the copy generation engine  in action.

From campaign brief to copy in minutes, not days or weeks.

  • 1Brief the campaign.Structured intake captures the goal, topic, and audience. The system drafts targeting the marketer can edit, regenerate, or delete.
  • 2Generate the personas.Three to five differentiated personas are generated from the brief. The marketer selects which ones the campaign will address.
  • 3Generate the copy.Distinct copy is generated per persona, per channel, including blog, email, LinkedIn, landing page, and video script.
  • 4Gate the copy.Every draft passes the evaluator scorecard before creative for brand voice, persona fit, fact verification, machine readability, and more.
  • 5Ship the package.Approved copy goes out as a complete campaign package for stakeholder final review. The art direction goes out as a JSON file to deliver to your creative team, or to use in your image and video creation tool, such as our own Shot Builder Studio.

keep the bar high

Human-in-the-loop is the design

SPECTRUM's output arrives at seven or eight out of ten, reliably and fast, and it is publication-ready after as little as one round of human editing. Every AI step carries a human checkpoint: approve, edit, or reject. All copy is approved before any creative work begins, and an automated evaluator scores every piece on mechanical quality, brand voice, persona fit, machine readability, fact verification, bias and inclusivity, and human-sounding voice before creative — blocking any claim without a traceable source. Five stages take a campaign from brief to approved package, and nothing advances on the machine's authority alone.

01
Structured intake
“What are we saying, and to whom?”

A marketer answers structured intake questions through a step-by-step wizard. The system drafts targeting across industries, roles, and pain points, and the marketer can edit, regenerate, or delete any of it.
02
Personas
“Who is this for, specifically?”

SPECTRUM generates three to five genuinely differentiated personas from the brief and lets the marketer select among them. Differentiated means different, not just variants that only swap the nouns.
03
Goal-aware copy
“Does the goal change the words?”

Copy follows, per persona and per channel: blog, email, social posts and ads, landing pages, and a video script. The system switches its approach based on campaign goal, so a thought-leadership email reads as educational and problem-led, while a product-launch email leads with outcomes and a direct call to action.

04
Evaluation gate
“Would we defend every claim?”

An automated evaluator scores every piece on mechanical quality, brand voice, persona fit, machine readability, fact verification, bias and inclusivity, and human-sounding voice. Any verifiable claim without a traceable source is flagged as critical and blocks publication.

05
Human review, then creative
“Who reviews before the visuals run?”

All copy is reviewed by a human before any creative work begins, because solid copy is the best possible art direction. Every AI step lets the human marketer select, unselect, regenerate, or edit.

Spend less

Under $0.025 per campaign run

Every leader wants segment-of-one relevance. Every budget forces a segment-of-thousands compromise. That trade-off rested on one assumption, that differentiated content is expensive to produce, and in our testing, it no longer holds. At under US$0.025 per generated campaign run, a distinct variant for every one of a thousand target executives comes to about US$25 in total. The constraints that remain are data quality and judgment. Today SPECTRUM personalises at a persona level. ABM tailoring to a specific company is the next step, and true one-to-one is reachable once you supply a contact list, at the added cost of generating or purchasing that list.

Demonstrated

$0.10

This was demonstrated when measuring the AI token cost of a differentiated copy build for two industry segments and two personas for each segment.

Working benchmark

Under $0.25 per run

Our working benchmark per generated campaign run, excluding individual-level graphics.

Graphics

~$1 for ten stills

Ten brand-consistent AI-generated stills cost about US$1 to generate with our Shot-Builder Studio tool.

Mover faster

The same campaign package, produced two ways.

Without SPECTRUM
Two+ weeks per campaign package
  • Copy and creative proceed in parallel under deadline pressure.
  • Budget forces segment-level compromise: one message approximates thousands of readers.
  • Late copy changes ripple expensively through finished creative.
  • Review cycles take additional time and team resources.
  • Machine-readability metrics are often missed.
With SPECTRUM
~25 minutes
  • Copy is finished and reviewed before any creative work begins.
  • Deliver distinct variants per persona at under $0.025 per campaign run.
  • Automated copy evaluator and human gate checks ensure the quality of every asset.
  • Review cycle bottlenecks are reduced to as little as one round of approvals.
  • Copy is machine-readable by design.

The campaign for one: marketing personalisation stopped being a cost problem

At under US$0.025 per AI-generated campaign run in our measurements, persona-level differentiation is cheap today. Account-based or one-to-one campaigns become affordable with the added cost of a target list.

The marketing copy review gate that AI makes stronger

AI copy generation can turn editing into the bottleneck. SPECTRUM pairs AI generation with mandatory human checkpoints and an automated evaluation gate. The copy it produces reaches publication quality after as little as one round of human editing.
